CAPP Program

HOME / About MacNeal School / CAPP Program

MacNeal School now offers the CAPP (Comprehensive Assessment Partial Placement) Program.  Member districts expressed a desire for a program that offered interim placements for students in need of additional services on a temporary basis and/or comprehensive evaluations.  MacNeal’s CAPP Program is embedded into our traditional school program and tailored to meet the individual needs of each student and district.  When a student enters the CAPP Program, assessments can be provided per district need/request.  However, when assessments are not needed, MacNeal offers the appropriate academic and behavioral supports a student requires as well as individual counseling and social skills group.  CAPP students are full participants of MacNeal School, including abiding by the uniform policy, following the behavior management program, enjoying clubs and activities, and participating in community service projects.

Assessments that can be completed as part of the CAPP Program include:

  • Social Developmental History, including parent-completed BASC
  • Academic Assessments (i.e., KTEA-II, WRAT-IV, OWLS, K-SEALS)
  • Psychological (intellectual assessment) with or without visual motor/perceptual
  • Behavioral Evaluation (i.e., BASC, Connor’s, Functional Analysis)
  • Social Assessment (i.e., SSRS, SSIS)
  • Occupational Therapist Evaluation
  • Speech/Language Evaluation
  • Transition Assessment (i.e., Student/Parent Interviews, Interest Inventory)

Near the conclusion of a CAPP placement, an exit meeting is held, and the MacNeal School team presents a comprehensive report outlining the student’s progress while at MacNeal and possible recommendations for future placement (i.e., return to home school, remain at MacNeal, etc).
