HOME / About MacNeal School / Accreditation

On a bi-annual basis, MacNeal School undergoes the approval process set by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).  The school has remained in good standing with ISBE since beginning the program in August of 1998.  MacNeal School also submits financial cost reports and a yearly external audit to the Governor’s Purchase Care Review Board (GPCRB).  The process of this budgetary information determines the school’s per diem rate for the following school year.

The Illinois Department of Child and Family Services in addition to the Illinois State Board of Education have approved MacNeal School’s Behavior Management Plan. MacNeal School was one of the first schools in the state to gain DCFS approval for wards in foster or residential care.

In addition to ISBE approval, MacNeal School has earned accreditation through AdvancEd formerly known as North Central Association (NCA).  MacNeal School is actively involved in the ongoing School Improvement Process under the guidance of AdvancEd.
